Koselig Stoughton
Koselig {Koo-sh-lee} is a concept which is deeply rooted in Norwegian culture. I would describe it as the feeling of coziness and being comfortable, but it often involves being in a social setting with others rather than being alone.
The downtown merchants have created a week of classes, tastings, demos for a spending extra special time with family this year.

Parents Day Out with Covenant Lutheran Church
To help families as the busy holiday season gets underway, Covenant Lutheran Church is offering a Parents’ Day Out event. This will take place on Sunday, December 10 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the church. We will provide free child care, so parents can take care of errands, shopping, and preparations. Those supervising the event have undergone background checks. They will be assisted by young people who are volunteers.
There are two requirements:
Children must be potty trained.
Children need their own sack lunch. We want to make sure they have access to food regardless of allergies.
To save space, you need to fill out the link below. If later you need to cancel, a quick email can release the space. We will start a waiting list if there is a great deal of interest. We are currently capping the number of children at 25 children. If we get more volunteers to help, we may expand our numbers.

Legendary musician Bob Mould announces the continuation of his “Distortion and Blue Hearts” tour starting August 26, 2023 in Milwaukee WI. At select festivals, including a special Grandstand performance at the legendary Minnesota State Fair on September 2, 2023, Bob will be joined by Jason Narducy on bass and drummer Jon Wurster. The balance of Fall 2023 dates will feature Bob in Solo Electric setting.
Mould’s live shows will span his entire 40+ year career, including songs from the Distortion collection and from his landmark band Hüsker Dü, as well as songs from last year’s explosive and critically acclaimed album BLUE HEARTS — about which Rolling Stone’s 4 out of 5 star review raved, “feels like a lost Hüsker Dü album with Mould howling invective over his buzzsawing guitar.”
In late 2021, Demon Music Group concluded their year-long Bob Mould retrospective campaign with the fourth vinyl box, DISTORTION: LIVE. The 8 LP set includes live recordings from Mould’s solo career and his band Sugar.
Jason Narducy:
Jason Narducy is a Chicago musician. When he isn't touring with Bob Mould or Superchunk, he writes and sings in Split Single. Greg Kot (Chicago Tribune, Sound Opinions) calls Jason “a first rate songwriter and band leader”. Jason has performed with Robert Pollard (Guided By Voices), Sunny Day Real Estate, The Pretenders, Liz Phair, Eddie Vedder, and many more.
Jason and his first band, Verböten, were featured in the Foo Fighter's HBO series Sonic Highways and in Dave Grohl's NYT best seller, Storyteller. Playwright Brett Neveu wrote a musical about Verböten (featuring music by Jason) that opened in Chicago in January 2020. Verböten the musical garnered rave reviews and sold out performances and is currently being re-worked for a film adaptation.
Jason Narducy has written and performed in comedy shorts such as The Sexiest Elbows in Rock (3 episodes all found on YouTube). The episodes feature Fred Armisen, Michael Shannon, Frank Black, Sharon Van Etten, Todd Barry, Dave Hill, Rick Nielsen, and Michael Cerveris among others.

Stoughton Community Farmers Market
"Farmers keep an average of .90 out of every dollar spent at farmers markets."
Making a positive impact in your community and on your own well being can be as simple (and enjoyable!) as shopping at your local farmer’s market.
In the United States, it is estimated that food travels about 1,500 miles from farm to table. This has an enormous impact on the environment when considering the amount of resources required to travel such a distance. On top of the environmental impact, in order to travel such distances, food is often picked before it is ripe and consequently, often requires treatment with preservatives in order for food to stay "fresh" before it reaches your plate.
When you buy food from your local market, you can put food in your body knowing that it’s fresh and traveled from just a couple miles down the road. This means better flavor and higher nutritional content of the food you consume in addition to being kinder to the environment. Don’t forget, shopping at your local market also means supporting your community. Buying local means your dollars stay local. Not only that, but making a point to spend some time at your local market and meet your local farmers means building a greater sense of community. Positive changes to the community you live in and your well being can start with The Stoughton Community Farmers’ Market!
Downtown Wine Walk
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
